Overview
A person dies from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) every four minutes. More than half the population with low pulmonary function will require supplemental oxygen treatment, a solution to sustain life but one that changes the life of that patient forever. Long after the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us, COPD and other respiratory sufferers will unfortunately continue to die at an alarming rate as their quality of life suffers from technological abandonment. ISPS Health was formed to provide a revolutionary transformation to the supplemental oxygen market by creating the SAFAIR® Medical, offering oxygen with comfort and portability.
Nature has provided us with a several organic methods to increase our blood oxygen intake. The most prevalent method is simply fresh air and outdoor exercise – like going for a walk. Patients that suffer from lower pulmonary dysfunctions like COPD, asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema often require supplemental oxygen, which too often means a significant decrease in mobility and therefore a decline in quality of life. Health studies show that higher quality of life is often associated with lower mortality risk, and this relationship is a major factor in the prognosis of patients with reduced pulmonary function.
